Gianluigi Donnarumma has made his feelings clear on Man Utd transfer as PSG saga takes new twist
Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has already made his feelings clear about a Manchester United switch as links with the Premier League club have been reported in recent days.
Donnarumma, 26, played an integral role in PSG’s successful treble-winning 2024/25 campaign, during which they secured Ligue 1, Champions League and the Coupe de France.
The Italy international has played for the French side since joining from his boyhood club AC Milan in 2021 and has developed into one of the best goalkeepers in world football.
But he could be on the move again this summer.

On Wednesday, The Telegraph reported that United are interested in Donnarumma, while journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft issued an update on Thursday, claiming “[I’ve] just been told that this process is ON. There are talks going on” for the Italy international whose contract at PSG is set to expire next summer.
Also on Thursday, Fabrizio Romano explained: “Donnarumma and his camp do not rule out to stay at Paris Saint-Germain. Even with contract expiring in June 2026 and [Lucas] Chevalier coming soon, Gigio could stay and compete for his spot as he did with [Keylor] Navas and then decide his future in the next months."
But what has Donnarumma said about a potential move away from PSG this summer?
Back in June, the 26-year-old said his “priority is to stay at PSG. I don't think there will be problems in the negotiations”, despite ESPN claiming that both Inter Milan and United had enquired.
Paris-based journalist Fabrice Hawkins previously explained how United were just one of several clubs interested in the Italy shot stopper.
On Monday, he wrote on X: "Gianluigi Donnarumma has not yet left, even though his agents are exploring the market to find him a new destination.
"The Italian goalkeeper has options. Manchester United, Manchester City, Galatasaray, and Saudi clubs are interested. However, he remains attached to PSG and will only leave if a project fully suits him.
"Internally, the possibility of seeing Chevalier and Donnarumma compete, with Luis Enrique making the final decision, is not ruled out."
United currently have Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir as goalkeeping options and have been linked with Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega in recent days.
