Erling Haaland's hilarious message to The United Strand goes viral after fans spot haircut theory

In no uncertain terms, Erling Haaland has told Manchester United fan Frank Ilett to get a haircut after the social media personality responded to a fan theory in SPORTbible’s comments section.

Ilett, who has built a significant following through his social media channel The United Strand, promised on October 5, 2024, that he would only cut his hair when United recorded five wins in a row.

Back in February, the 30-year-old was just one victory away from a trip to the barbers following wins over Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham. However, after Michael Carrick's side could only record a 1-1 draw against West Ham, Ilett was left heartbroken, with almost 300,000 viewers watching his reaction to the result on streaming platform Kick.

Erling Haaland offers some no-nonsense advice to The United Strand

Unfortunately for The United Strand, it has been a poor start to the campaign at Old Trafford. They currently sit 12th in the Premier League table with one win from a possible five.

Manchester City, on the other hand, are currently unbeaten after winning all five of their opening games against Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Coventry, Manchester United and Sunderland.

City's impressive form has led some fans to suggest Erling Haaland waited until they had won five Premier League games in a row before getting a haircut as a so-called dig at local rivals United.

SPORTbible asked its audience whether the timing of Haaland's haircut was a mere coincidence or if the City striker knew exactly what he was doing.

The United Strand wasn't convinced. "I personally don't think it was anything to do with that," he wrote. "He would have got it after the 5th win otherwise (against United!) ..not the 7th against Sunderland."

Haaland soon responded to the comment, although his take did little to settle the debate. He simply replied: "Cut your hair man."

Wayne Rooney has already given his take on The United Stand

Ahead of United's game against West Ham in February, Wayne Rooney made his feelings abundantly clear on Ilett's much-talked-about haircut challenge.

Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Rooney was asked if he would get the clippers out for Illett.

“[No.] I’d put him on the other side of the country," said Rooney. “He’s doing my head in. We’re talking about Michael Carrick and Man United trying to win their fifth game in a row and the whole thing is about a guy getting his haircut."

The former striker added: "I bet he'd be devastated if Man United win the fifth game, because all of a sudden he's irrelevant."
