What Erik ten Hag said when asked about Marcus Rashford's injury has got Manchester United fans talking.

Man United supporters hoped there would be no repeat of their 2023-24 injury crisis this term, but already four players have limped out of their pre-season games.

Rasmus Hojlund and new signing Leny Yoro were both withdrawn during United's defeat to Arsenal last week, and are set for extended periods on the sidelines.

Hojlund is expected to miss six weeks with a hamstring issue, while Yoro - who only completed his £52 million move from Lille last week - will miss around three months with a foot injury.

Things went from bad to worse on Wednesday when Marcus Rashford and Antony picked up issues during the second half of United's 3-2 win against Real Betis.

The 26-year-old drew United level with a first-half penalty, but was substituted just after the hour mark.

After the game he joined his teammates on the pitch to support their supporters in side San Diego's Snapdragon Stadium, but footage later emerged of him limping as he walked towards the team bus.

As Erik ten Hag walked through the media mixed zone on his way to the coach, he was asked by a number of reporters for an update on Rashford.

The United boss replied, "Tomorrow, I speak," although he was smiling and seemed to be in a positive mood.

On X, fans drew different conclusions from what Ten Hag said.

"How he said I believe he's [Rashford] alright. Hope it's true!" one fan commented. Another agreed, saying "I don't think it was anything serious."

A third fan praised Ten Hag for giving "the right response" rather than jumping to conclusions.

However, other supporters were less optimistic.

"We are cursed," one fan conceded.

Another commented: "I don't think he's fully Okay though... best wishes to the team and speedy recovery to those injured."
