Erik ten Hag is reportedly reconsidering selling one Manchester United player after his impressive performance against Fulham.

United got their season underway with a narrow 1-0 victory over Fulham at Old Trafford on Friday.

New signing Joshua Zirkzee netted the winner in the 87th minute of the 2024/25 Premier League season opener, taking home the three points for United.

But after one player put on a surprisingly impressive performance, reports have suggested that manager Erik ten Hag may reconsider the club's plans to sell him this window.

Casemiro produced one of his best performances in a Manchester United shirt on Friday, controlling sections of the match from midfield and playing a crucial role in the winning goal.

And following the match against Fulham, the Dutch manager will reportedly consider keeping him on as a first team option for the season, despite the Brazilian being linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The Saudi Pro League looked the most likely destination for the 32-year-old, with Al Nassr reportedly considering paying as much as €100 million (£85 million) to secure his signature.

Speaking about Casemiro's performance in the season opener, Ten Hag said: “In that midfield department unit he was very important in and out of possession, organising with smart solutions. This is the Casemiro we all enjoy.”

Ahead of the season, Casemiro confessed about how happy he was at United, and claimed that he felt as good as ever

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "I feel very well, very well. I feel healthy, with energy and the same mentality I always had.

"I'm well, I'm happy, living every day I get to play here. As I usually say, Manchester United gave me what I wanted.

"This joy of being able to enjoy the game, enjoy the Premier League. So, I'm happy to be here at Manchester United and enjoying the game."

United have been busy in this summer's transfer window, signing four players including Zirkzee from Bologna and Matthijs De Ligt from Bayern Munich.

The club have also waved goodbye to several players who played a big role in previous seasons, with players like Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane amongst the departures.
