Aaron Wan-Bissaka appears to have aimed a dig at Manchester United after completing his move to West Ham.

On Tuesday West Ham completed the signing of Wan-Bissaka from Man United for a fee of £15 million, with the right-back signing a seven-year contract.

The 26-year-old joined United from Crystal Palace in a £50m move in 2019, and had one year remaining on his contract.

Wan-Bissaka was in and out of Erik ten Hag's side last season, with two injury spells and the form of fellow full-back Diogo Dalot limiting him to 22 Premier League appearances.

Though the England youth international has always been a solid defender, his attacking contributions often frustrated United fans.

With the imminent arrival of Noussair Mazraouiv from Bayern Munich, United were keen to move Wan-Bissaka on this summer to avoid losing him for free next year.

Upon returning to London, Wan-Bissaka appeared to take a subtle dig at United during an interview with West Ham's official website.

"It was a no brainer for me to join West Ham," the defender said.

"I see a team that is in it together, that will push each other to win, and a group that has got each others' backs through thick and thin, so being part of that and having that insurance helps a lot when you are surrounded by a good squad."

While those comments seem pretty standard for a player joining a new club, they could hint at what he witnessed behind the scenes at Old Trafford in recent seasons.

In recent years there have been multiple reports of cliques in the Old Trafford dressing room, rifts between players and coaches and a general lack of cohesion.

Last season Ten Hag admitted that there were issues behind the scenes, despite the fact that he pushed out two players who were thought to be negatively affecting the dressing room in Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.
