Cristiano Ronaldo has made his feelings clear about Mason Greenwood potentially joining him at Al Nassr despite the 23-year-old previously being told off for a disrespectful comment about the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Ronaldo, 40, recently penned a new two-year contract at Al Nassr, which will keep him in Saudi Arabia beyond his 42nd birthday.

And despite winning the Golden Boot in back-to-back years, the Portugal international is yet to win the Saudi Pro League, as Al Nassr finished third in 2024/25 – finishing 13 points behind winners Al Ittihad.

The Saudi club have already bolstered their squad by signing Joao Felix from Chelsea on a two-year deal for a fee of up to £43.7m.

Al Nassr have since been linked with a potential move for Manchester United academy graduate and current Marseille forward Greenwood, 23.

The Englishman has also been linked with Inter Milan.

Greenwood, who was released by United in July 2024, had not played since January 2022 before he was arrested that month.

He was then charged with attempted rape, coercive and controlling behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in October 2022.

Greenwood denied all allegations against him, and the charges were dropped in February 2023.

The striker then joined La Liga outfit Getafe on loan in September of that year before making a permanent switch to Marseille in July 2024.

The Bradford-born goal scorer has registered 22 goals and six assists in 36 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit.

And according to MARCA, Greenwood has Ronaldo’s “endorsement” but is still making up his mind in regard to a decision about his future.

The pair were previously teammates at United during the 2021/22 campaign and featured together on 17 occasions.

But Greenwood was seemingly not always an admirer of Ronaldo, like most young professionals are these days.

Back in 2023, The Athletic reported that Greenwood was pulled up about comments related to Ronaldo during his time at Real Madrid.

“He’s dead,” Greenwood reportedly said before United’s staff corrected him and ‘considered his mentality that of youthful delusion’.

A source also said: "He knew he was a good player and was cutting, he wasn’t shy about telling someone they were sh*t.

"When you hear that, you’d think, 'Can’t be talking like that'."
