What Jadon Sancho did after Man Utd's defeat to Chelsea could anger the club's supporters

The United outcast risked angering supporters.

Jadon Sancho risked angering Manchester United fans with what he did after his parent club's latest defeat.

On Thursday evening Man United sank to a 12th Premier League defeat of the season as they somehow lost 4-3 to Chelsea.

United found themselves 2-0 down after less than 20 minutes, but two goals from Alejandro Garnacho either side of a Bruno Fernandes header turned the game on its head.

Erik ten Hag's side looked set to claim a 3-2 win, but they collapsed in the final moments of injury time as Cole Palmer scored in the 100th and 101st minutes to snatch a famous Chelsea victory.

United's players were visibly distraught at the final whistle, while in his post-match interview, Ten Hag was at a loss for words when asked to explain what happened.

And to add insult to injury, fans noticed something that United exile Jadon Sancho did in the moments following the full-time whistle.

At 22:16 BST on Thursday evening, former United star Cristiano Ronaldo posted a tweet that many fans have interpreted as a dig at the club.

The Portuguese superstar, now playing in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr, uploaded a photo of himself smiling at something on his phone with the caption 'Happy days'."

The post received 448,000 favourites, one of which was from Sancho's official X account.

Sancho left United on loan during the January transfer window after falling out with Ten Hag.

The winger cost United £73 million in the summer of 2021, but his career at Old Trafford appears over so long as the Dutch manager is in the dugout.

That might not be the case for long. United's hopes of qualifying for next season's expanded Champions League look over, with the Red Devils currently sixth in the table and nine points off fifth place with eight games left to play.

The pressure on Ten Hag has been increasing in recent months, and on Thursday night there were plenty of United fans calling for his head.
