Fans spotted what Bruno Fernandes did it in the 88th minute of Manchester United's win over Aston Villa.

United went ahead early on through Rasmus Hojlund before Douglas Luiz levelled matters for the hosts.

However, Scott McTominay came off the bench to score the winning goal and make it three victories in a row for Erik ten Hag's men.

The Red Devils withstood late pressure and late on, Fernandes celebrated winning a free-kick.

In the 88th minute he was pulled back and genuinely fist-pumped like he had just scored the winning goal.

Naturally, fans were quick to react to Fernandes' antics.

One wrote: "Bruno Fernandes celebrating a flop says an awful lot."

A second said: "Bruno Fernandes celebrating a foul in his box is all you need to know about how pathetic he is."

A third added: "See Bruno celebrating foul."

Today was the first time Fernandes didn't score at Villa Park, having found the net on his three previous visits.

Fernandes is regularly criticised for his performances and attitudes on the pitch and his older brother, Ricardo, admits that it affects him and his family.

The 34-year-old, who works for the NHS and also plays in Division One of the Southern Combination Football League for Roffey, also said that opposition players target him in a recent interview.

He told FourFourTwo: "Oh, yes, that happens. I’m not saying every game, but most games. I don’t mind people coming up to me and speaking about my brother. I’m glad Bruno is known around the world.

"Manchester United was a big step for him. You hear the criticism and sometimes it affects you. It’s tempting to comment, but you have to leave it.”
