Manchester United winger Antony has revealed his true feelings towards the club weeks after leaving on loan.

Despite signing Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven, United were relatively quiet in the winter transfer window, as the club instead decided to focus on outgoings.

The most notable players to leave the club over the window were forwards Marcus Rashford and Antony, who both secured loan deals away from Old Trafford.

While Rashford has been spoken out on several occasions since joining Aston Villa, Antony has remained relatively quiet despite impressing at Real Betis, until now.

Antony's move to the Spanish club was announced in late January, with the deal meaning that the Brazilian will play for Real Betis until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Since moving arriving at his new club, Antony has made an instant impact, scoring three goals and assisting one across his four appearances for the Spanish side.

And now, he has finally broken his silence about how he feels about joining Betis in an interview with the club, via Spanish outlet AS.

“The most important thing is that I have found myself again. I am happy to be enjoying myself every day. Things go well when we are happy, content,” admitted the 24-year-old.

“I was playing little, but I have been working a lot. I needed to be happy with myself. The best version of being happy with myself is the most important thing."

Speaking about his time at United, Antony added: "I played very little in Manchester, but I am grateful to them and also to the coach, who spoke to me.

“I have also done very well in Manchester; I won two titles, and I am very grateful. But when I say that here, I have found myself, happiness, the people are like us in Brazil. The sun helps a lot. I am very happy here. Every day I wake up with a smile and that is very important.”

It remains very possible that Antony will leave United once again in the summer, either on another loan or as part of a permanent transfer, after he has continued to fail to impress at the Premier League club.

Across his 96 appearances for the Red Devils, the winger has scored just 12 goals and assisted five.
