Amad Diallo sends cryptic message on social media after Alejandro Garnacho controversy

Alejandro Garnacho liked tweets calling out Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

Amad Diallo has posted a cryptic message on social media in the wake of Manchester United's disappointing draw with Bournemouth.

United were held to a 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon to leave their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread.

Erik ten Hag's side are now seventh in the Premier League table, 10 points off the top four with only six games remaining.

The result increases the pressure on the Dutchman amid speculation over his future as manager.

Alejandro Garnacho has risked the wrath of Ten Hag after liking two tweets from Mark Goldbridge calling out the United manager following the draw.

The posts slammed Ten Hag's handling of the winger while insisting that other players deserved to be taken off before Garnacho – who was substituted at half-time, with Diallo coming on in his place.

One of Goldbridge's posts read: "Garnacho has been one of our best players this season.

"Poor first half but taking him off at half-time and holding him up as the problem is a joke. Many have done much worse week in week out and are still out there."

Goldbridge added: "Ten Hag subtly blaming Garnacho in the post match press conference.

"Not a good look throwing a 19-year-old under the bus who has actually delivered for you this season. But then again he's clearly scared of upsetting the bigger earners."

Diallo has seemingly responded to the controversy, posting a cryptic message on his Instagram account.

The 21-year-old uploaded a picture of himself with the mouth zipped emoji, leaving fans to speculate over the meaning of the message.

"Feel like some players are getting fed up with certain players having so much power," posted one fan.

Another added: "Bench players acting like starters."

While a third wrote: "Amad better be careful. INEOS should set these players straight. No player power should be tolerated any longer."

United must now regroup ahead of their FA Cup semi-final against Coventry on Saturday.

They then face bottom club Sheffield United in the Premier League the following Wednesday.
