Alejandro Garnacho drops major Man Utd transfer hint amid reports of shock late Chelsea bid

Alejandro Garnacho drops major Man Utd transfer hint amid reports of shock late Chelsea bid

Garnacho has made it clear where his future lies.

Alejandro Garnacho has spoken out amid reports of a late deadline day bid from Chelsea for the Man United star.

The Argentine international's future has been up in the air this month, after he was dropped alongside Marcus Rashford for December's Manchester derby due to attitude problems.

Garnacho did return to the side and has featured in all of United's games in 2025, unlike Rashford who completed a loan move to Aston Villa on Sunday.

The United winger has been heavily linked to Napoli and Chelsea this window, with the 20-year-old's agent attending Stamford Bridge.

According to football.london, the London club are weighing up a deadline day swoop for Garnacho, and it could all come down to the future of Christopher Nkunku.

The report states Chelsea could use Nkunku to secure a deal, with United desperate to add a striker to their ranks before the deadline.

However, Garnacho himself looks to have put rumours to bed, after uploading an Instagram story on Monday looking ahead to United's FA Cup clash against Leicester City.

His story read: "We will try again on Friday."

This comes after United suffered a 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday, the loss being Ruben Amorim's fifth in seven games at Old Trafford.

Despite reports suggesting United were open to selling all players for the right price, Amorim stressed he was desperate to keep Garnacho at the club.

“He changed right after that City game. He’s improving but it’s not from me — it’s the way he understands things," he said ahead of United's Crystal Palace defeat.

“I just want to help him. He understands sometimes I am a different coach.

"That I’m demanding in my way and sometimes it is hard to make the first impact.

“All the merit is for Garnacho. He understood the position, playing inside and outside. The connection with Mainoo.”
