Alejandro Garnacho issues immediate response after David Ornstein drops huge update on Man Utd star's future

Alejandro Garnacho has broken his silence on social media after David Ornstein delivered a huge update on his Manchester United future.

Despite seemingly being a key part of Ruben Amorim's plans, Argentine youngster Garnacho has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Back in January, the 20-year-old was linked with a move to the likes of Chelsea and Napoli, but a transfer never materialised.

On Thursday afternoon, The Athletic journalist Ornstein dropped a big update regarding Garnacho's future.

In his weekly Q&A, Ornstein was asked: "Hi David, is there still any links to Garnacho leaving? Thanks."

Ornstein replied: "Yes, we understand this to be highly possible. If proposals are deemed suitable by Man Utd and Garnacho himself. As we know, exits for the likes of Rashford, Sanch, Antony, Malacia, Casemiro and Hojlund are also plausible.

"While the salaries of Eriksen and Lindelof will leave the wage bill, there's a growing sense Mainoo will stay, although there is a contract situation with him that needs to be addressed."

Shortly after Ornstein's article went live, Garnacho took to social media as he posted a series of pictures on his Instagram, and it was simply captioned with a talking emoji.

Garnacho is one of United's most highly-rated players but has struggled in recent weeks.

So far in the 24/25 season, the young Argentine has only scored 10 goals and assisted nine in 51 appearances across all competitions.

Speaking after United's dramatic 5-4 win over Lyon last week, former Red Devils star Rio Ferdinand urged the club to keep hold of Garnacho.

The former England centre-back said on TNT Sports: "When there’s space to run into, Alejandro Garnacho can be a real devastating threat.

"Yes, he needs to work on that end product but he’s still a young and improving player so that will come."

Ferdinand continued: "Stick with him. I believe Manchester United should stick with him."
