Manchester United fans have hit back at Alejandro Garnacho for his cringey social media post following the embarrassing loss to Newcastle United.

On Monday, Ruben Amorim suffered another blow to start of his time as United manager as his side were comfortably beaten 2-0 by an in-form Newcastle United team at Old Trafford.

Following the match, Manchester United fans were quick to let their feelings about their team's performance known, hitting out at several players.

And now, fans have turned their anger towards young winger Garnacho for his latest social media post.

On Tuesday, Garnacho posted a series of photos to his Instagram account to sum up 2024 ahead of the new year.

While most of the images show Garnacho with his family, fans have hit out at the 20-year-old for an edited image that shows Garnacho standing alongside United legend Cristiano Ronaldo, with both men holding the Puskas award.

In 2009, Ronaldo won the first-ever Puskas Award for his for his Champions League goal against Porto and 15 years later, Garnacho matched his idol as he took home the 16th Puskas Award for his stunning bicycle kick goal against Everton in the Premier League.

However, this wasn't enough for some fans, who felt that Garnacho comparing himself to one of the greatest footballers of all time was cringey and out of place given the club's current form.

Reacting to the post, one fan wrote: "Respect but you are not him. There's only one CR7.

While another wrote: "Garnacho should work out this s*** on the pitch instead of begging it off Ronaldo in 2025."

And one angry fan added: "Yeah Garnacho is not making it at this club when he’s self centred, egotistical and arrogant. He thinks he’s Ronaldo but he’s more like Ravel Morrison."

Since joining United in October 2020 from Atletico Madrid, Garnacho has often spoken about his admiration for Ronaldo, even admitting that the Portuguese striker's time at United is part of what inspired him to join the club.

The Argentine winger has since established himself as a key player for United, making over 100 appearances in all competitions.
