Man Utd fans left concerned as 'emotional' footage of Alejandro Garnacho emerges after Rangers win

Chelsea and Napoli have been linked with a move for Garnacho in recent days.

Alejandro Garnacho appeared emotional as he applauded the Stretford End following Thursday night's Europa League clash between Manchester United and Rangers.

The 20-year-old forward has been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford as United try and generate income to comply with profit and sustainability rules.

Napoli are looking to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with Garnacho, according to widespread reports, and the Serie A side have already made an opening bid worth €50 million [£42.2m] plus add-ons for the Argentine forward.

Fabrizio Romano claims Napoli boss Antonio Conte has spoken to Garnacho over the phone, but United believe he is worth more than what's currently on the table.

Chelsea are also keen and recently made contact with United – as well as Garnacho's representatives – regarding a move but it remains to be seen if the Blues make a concrete offer in the final days of the window.

Amid the uncertainty surrounding his future at Old Trafford, Garnacho played the full 90 minutes against Rangers as United recorded a narrow 2-1 win over the Scottish Premiership side.

In fact, he was one of United's standout performers on Thursday night and produced arguably his best performance under Amorim to date.

After a section of fans chanted his song "Viva Garnacho" during the second-half, those who stayed behind at full-time applauded the Argentine, who looked emotional as he approached the Old Trafford tunnel.

Here's how fans on social media reacted to the below footage.

One said: "Oh damn he looks emotional," while another commented: "He was the last one to go off too.. really taking it in."

A third wrote: "He was pulling a sad face maybe he is ready to go. Let’s see what happens in the coming days. Either way after today’s performance £100 million or nothing."

A fourth said: "We can't be selling our best promising players and then go out there by other unproven prospect. I know Garnacho will be one of the best as he keeps being nurtured. Let's keep him."

A fifth added: "It feels so wrong to let him go."

Amorim, meanwhile, refused to rule out the possibility of Garnacho leaving in the coming days.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, the Portuguese coach said: "I'm focused on the games and he's here. He's a player for Manchester United. He was really important for us today and let's see in the next days."

"I think he's improving in every aspect of the game," added Amorim.

"You can see it until 90 mins he's always there recovering and helping, sometimes showing some frustration and that is good because he wants more. I think he has potential to be so much better in every situation in the game.

"What I can say is he understood what I was trying to do, was really clear, I just want to help them but in the end it's them that do the job."

At the moment, United's financial situation means a realistic offer for any senior player will be considered in the coming days. Do you think selling Garnacho is the right move from United?
