Manchester United have received a timely injury boost ahead of their Champions League clash against FC Copenhagen.

After losing to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray in their first two group matches in the Champions League, Erik ten Hag’s men are currently bottom of Group A.

On Tuesday night, United will be expected to finally get three points on the board against the Danish side.

Ahead of the clash at Old Trafford, one of United’s forgotten players has been spotted returning to training.

Dutch left-back Tyrell Malacia, who is yet to feature this season was seen doing some individual ball work away from the main group.

Last week, United posted a brief update on Malacia stating that he remains a long-term absentee.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the reason behind Malacia’s long lay-off is due to a knee injury suffered last season, which required surgery.

The report claimed that the club wanted to manage the knee injury with pain injections but later realised that surgery was necessary.

On the back of the surgery, Malacia reportedly spent time on crutches whilst recovering in the Netherlands.

Fellow left-back Sergio Reguillon is also facing a late fitness test to be fit for the match against Copenhagen, as Ten Hag revealed on Monday.

He said: “Yes we hope [to have players back in injury]. Sergio trained all week, today he will train, and then we have to assess if he is game fit or can be available for the squad.”

Ten Hag caused an almighty confusion when speaking about Reguillon as some fans thought he said ‘Sancho’ instead of ‘Sergio’(Reguillon).
