Manchester City fans have picked out the exact moment it all went wrong for Pep Guardiola against Feyenoord.

On Tuesday night at the Etihad Stadium, City were cruising to a routine UEFA Champions League win against Dutch side Feyenoord after a brace from Erling Haaland plus a goal by Ilkay Gundogan made it 3-0 to the hosts.

However, in the last 15 minutes, City completely disintegrated as strikes from Anis Hadj Moussa, Santiago Gimenez and David Hancko made it 3-3.

Reacting on social media, fans pointed out Guardiola's decision to take off Nathan Ake as the turning point.

The Dutchman was taken off in the 68th minute, replaced by youngster Jahmai Simpson-Pusey. Feyenoord then scored in the 75th, 82nd and 89th minute.

One fan said: "Why did PEP GOT AKE OUT WHYYYY."

Another replied: "Exactly my point."

A third fan added: "The subs were so unnecessary. This is on Pep."

Someone else wrote: "Subbing Ake leaving Akanji was going to be suicidal by Pep."

A fifth commented: "Shouldn’t have taken Ake off."

Another fan said: "Subbing off Ake and Gundogan brought all this."

Speaking on Amazon Prime, former Newcastle United and England striker Alan Shearer said: "Conceding the way City at the weekend and three again this weekend they look weak, they look light, they look frail. What you cannot do is give them a little bit of hope. That is what they did.

"Even with two minutes to go and 3-2 up, they take a quick free-kick. Why? Kill the game. They were in such a comfortable position."

As a result of the draw against Feyenoord, City are in 15th place having only collected eight points from five matches.

This weekend, City will travel to Anfield in the Premier League to take on title rivals Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
