Erling Haaland's extreme diet includes food 'other people don't eat' and his daily calorie intake is insane

Manchester City star Erling Haaland has a very different diet to most people and it fuels him to produce on the pitch.

Erling Haaland is fueled by an extreme diet which includes food which nobody else is eating.

When the Norwegian signed for Manchester City in the summer of 2022, he immediately told the club's chefs that they would be his "favourite people!" before tucking into a cheese and ham omelette.

Haaland's love for food has always been present, with Erase Steenslid, a former coach of Haaland's, revealed he was "always the closest to the buffet" and his consumption helped him pile on 12 kilos of muscle in a 15 month period when he was younger.

After a blistering start to life in his debut season at City, Haaland revealed that his dad's lasagne was the secret behind his success - while he also copied Cristiano Ronaldo's eating habits when he was younger.

But Haaland later shed light on his unusual diet after scoring in a 3-0 win away at Everton. He took to Instagram to post a picture of a large baking tray containing pieces of beef liver, calling his meal "bloody lovely!".

But Haaland has gone on record to admit that he does eat the meat products on a regular basis. In a documentary titled 'Haaland: The Big Decision', the former Borussia Dortmund man said: "You (other people) don't eat this, but I am concerned with taking care of my body.

"I think eating quality food that is as local as possible is the most important. People say meat is bad for you, but which one? The meat you get at McDonald's? ā€œOr the local cow that eats grass there? I eat the heart and the liver."

Animal organs such as heart and liver are believed to be rich in nutrients, zinc and protein, which can be useful in maintaining maximum performance for an athlete.

Haaland's former teammates have claimed that he "eats like a bear" and the 24-year-old is said to consume over 6,000 calories per day - which is around two-and-a-half times the average allowance for humans.

His diet has even shocked Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, a true physical specimen who eats roughly 10 pounds of food every day.

Though he's a clean and healthy eater, he does still enjoy a cheat meal from time and is prone to tucking into a "kebab pizza".

Haaland has scored an incredible 118 goals in 134 games for City, including 28 in 36 appearances in the current season after his winning goal against Spurs on Wednesday night.
