Erling Haaland's pre-match preparation has worked a treat in his Manchester City career, with 19 goals in all competitions.

Erling Haaland's dad cooks him his favourite meal before every Manchester City home game and it's definitely working a treat thus far.

Haaland increased his incredible goalscoring tally for the season to 19 after bagging a brace against Copenhagen at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

Pep Guardiola was left in disbelief over his talisman finding the net yet again after scoring a stunning hat-trick in the 6-3 Manchester derby demolition a few days prior.

The Norwegian has mastered the art of goalscoring and it seems as though the secret to his success lies in his lasagne.

On Sunday, after he smashed three past United, his father Alf-Inge revealed that he cooks the dish for his son before every Etihad fixture.

Prior to the Copenhagen clash, Haaland Sr posted a picture of the famous lasagne ready for his lad to demolish.

Clearly it's become a key part of Haaland's meticulous pre-match preparation and it's working wonders.

Haaland has struck 12 times in home games in all competitions for the Premier League champions, including three hat-tricks in a row in the league.

The 22-year-old, standing at 6ft 4, needs plenty of fuel while on the go and it was once said he "eats like a bear".

Erase Steenslid, Haaland's former coach, claimed he was "always the closest to the buffet" - while his old man has said he copied Cristiano Ronaldo's diet.

Upon arriving at City, Haaland was visibly excited to meet the club chefs and the first interaction between them was captured by the club's cameras.

After greeting the cooks, the former Borussia Dortmund striker said,"All good? Because you should be my favourite people!"

One of the chefs asked Haaland if he wanted anything to eat, to which he responded, "Yeah I would like some breakfast, omelette please - cheese and ham."

While Tom the chef got to work, Haaland tucked into some fruit.

Although he largely eats clean and healthy, he has revealed his cheat meal is 'kebab pizza' - although that's probably not the ideal shout before a game.
