Manchester City could earn millions if they win the Club World Cup as the prize money has been revealed.

Man City, who won the Champions League as part of their treble-winning campaign last season, have the chance to win another piece of silverware in the shape of the Club World Cup.

They face Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, tonight for a spot in Friday's final.

Fluminense beat Al Ahly on Monday to secure their spot in the showpiece event, with Man City hoping to join them.

If Pep Guardiola's team beat Red Diamonds and the Brazilian outfit, then they will secure a prize of £4 million.

The losing finalists will leave Saudi Arabia with £3 million.

The third placed team will pocket a little less than £2 million while fourth place is worth £1.5 million.

As Man City enter the competition in the semi-final stage, they are guaranteed at least £1.5 million for their participation in the Club World Cup.

The Blues head into the competition having dropped points against Crystal Palace.

They have had little time to prepare, but Guardiola claims his team are used to dealing with a demanding routine.

"We are used to this - we don't have time to recover,” he told the club's website.

"We would want longer to recover but there is no chance, we go forward and do our best. They are fresh because their season ended but it is what it is.

"We started our season later than other Premier League teams, when you play a lot of games you have to adapt. Believe me I will not complain about being here - it’s an honour to be able to play against Urawa."

Man City will look to join the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea in winning the Club World Cup.

Real Madrid beat Al Hilal to win the competition last season.
