A Manchester City player has reportedly had their house broken into.

City’s players are currently in Saudi Arabia as they gear up to take part in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Pep Guardiola’s men secured their place in the tournament after winning the Champions League last season.

However, one of their players’ homes has reportedly been left ransacked by robbers.

According to Belgian news outlet HLN, items were taken from Kevin de Bruyne’s home but no other details were released.

It has been reported that De Bruyne, his wife Michele and their three children were not in the home when the incident took place.

The report also claimed that the home was left ransacked by the burglars.

De Bruyne bought the mansion, which is in Bolderberg, Belgium back in 2015 and it includes a pool, jacuzzi and basketball court.

Last week, City boss Pep Guardiola gave a brief update on De Bruyne’s recovery from his hamstring injury.

He said: “It's going really well. I had surgery – it was a big injury. But we're getting closer – closer to the new year."

City are set to take on Japanese club Urawa Reds in the semi-final of the FIFA Club World Cup on Tuesday evening.

Speaking about the tournament, Guardiola said: “We love to go to play in the FIFA Club World Cup. I am very pleased and excited to go there to try to win it, of course.

“It’s nice [the possibility of being world champions]. It’s a goal we could not have imagined to be there, but we are there.”

He added: “To play this tournament you need to be there and fly there, and we will see the environment, then play Urawa and try get to the final.

“The schedule is what it is, the results are what they are, and we have to accept it. But if we don't improve that in that position it's always more difficult.”
