Man City have set surprisingly low asking price for Kevin De Bruyne amid Saudi Pro League interest

De Bruyne could be on the move.

Manchester City have set their asking price for midfielder Kevin De Bruyne amid interest from the Saudi Pro League, according to reports.

De Bruyne is reportedly being targeted by Al Nassr ahead of a potential move next summer, with the Saudi Pro League club said to be confident of convincing the City legend to depart European football.

A move to the Saudi Pro League and Al Nassr would see him join up with Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane, and also reunite with former City team-mate Aymeric Laporte, who joined the club in the summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, De Bruyne turned down advances from Saudi Arabia in the summer in favour of remaining at City.

The 2023/24 season, however, hasn't gone to plan for the 32-year-old, who suffered a hamstring injury on the opening day against Burnley and hasn't played since.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that City are open to cashing in on the midfielder before his contract expires in the summer of 2025.

It is reported that Pep Guardiola's side will demand a fee of just £60 million to sell the Belgium international, despite his status as one of the best players in the world when fit.

That fee will likely not be too much of an issue for the Saudi Pro League, with the above report also claiming that the 2024 summer transfer window will be 'one of the biggest spending transfer windows in history'.

Should De Bruyne depart the Etihad Stadium next summer, he would bring to an end a nine-year spell at City which has seen him establish himself as one of the all time great Premier League midfielders.

The 32-year-old has won 14 trophies under Guardiola at City, including five Premier League titles and one Champions League crown.

He is the final player in City's senior squad to have been signed prior to the Spaniard's arrival in the summer of 2016. City paid a reported club-record £54 million to sign him from Wolfsburg in 2015.

And despite the size of the fee being derided by some pundits at the time, he has more than proven them wrong.
