Fans have spotted the secret message written on Erling Haaland's match ball after the Manchester City striker scored yet another hat-trick.

Man City made it two wins from two in the Premier League this season with a 4-1 victory against Ipswich Town on Saturday.

The newly promoted side shocked the defending Premier League champions when Sammie Szmodics scored against the run of play with just seven minutes on the clock.

Pep Guardiola's side didn't panic though and in the 10 minutes that followed scored three goals to blow Ipswich out of the water.

Erling Haaland scored from the penalty spot after Savinho was brought down, before Kevin De Bruyne passed into an empty net after the Brazilian winger robbed the ball off Ipswich goalkeeper Arijanet Muric.

Haaland scored his second two minutes later after rounding Muric, and he completed his hat-trick in the 88th minute with a lazer strike from outside the area found the bottom corner.

Haaland has now scored a remarkable seven hat-tricks since joining City two years ago, as any as Wayne Rooney scored in his entire Premier League career.

As is tradition when a player scores a hat-trick, Haaland took home the match ball to mark his achievement.

The 24-year-old gets his teammates to sign the ball whenever he scores a hat-trick, but it appears that one City player is fed up with how often it happens.

Photos of Haaland's signed ball emerged on social media after Saturday's match, and fans noticed that one of his teammates wrote: "I'm sick of writing these match balls."

Fans have been trying to work out who the signer was, but so far their identity remains a mystery.

With four goals in two league outings this season, it seems pretty likely that Haaland's teammates will once again be called upon to sign a hat-trick ball.
