Donald Trump stunned the football world with his comment to Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour at the Gaza peace summit.

World leaders gathered on Monday in Egypt as part of a major diplomatic meeting to discuss the next steps in achieving long-term peace in Gaza.

Man City owner Sheikh Mansour attended the summit as vice president and deputy prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, while US president Trump was also present as he led discussions alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Sheikh Mansour is leading the UAE delegation on behalf of president Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The delegation includes senior officials and ministers in order to bolster international support for the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Gaza.

During the summit in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh, Sheikh Mansour met Trump, who greeted him with a money-related joke.

Trump shook Sheikh Mansour's hand and posed for photos before making a comment about the Emirati royal's wealth.

"A lot of cash, unlimited cash," he said, before adding: "And he’s a good man, too."

Fans on social media were quick to react to the interaction between Trump and Sheikh Mansour, with one posting: "Sheikh doesn't even want to look this dude in the face lol."

A second said: "Three things Trump loves: money, himself, and power."

A third commented: "His yank-shake with world leaders is so creepy."

Another slammed: "What a f**king asshole. He is a president and talks about cash."

Sheikh Mansour’s Abu Dhabi United Group acquired Man City in 2008 in a transaction that changed the landscape of the club, as well as the Premier League.

Man City became a powerhouse, winning eight Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2023.

The 54-year-old has attended just two games during his 17-year spell at the Etihad.

He attended a 3-0 home win over Liverpool in 2010 and watched his side create history by winning a first Champions League in Istanbul, Turkey, to clinch a historic treble.
