Liverpool fans have been left demanding two players are removed from the squad following their 1-1 draw against Sunderland.

It was more dropped points for Arne Slot in the Premier League this season, leaving the reigning champions in 8th place after 14 games.

Sunderland took the lead through Chemsdine Talbi, whose long range effort in the 67th minute evaded Alisson after deflecting off Virgil Van Dijk.

It was hard to argue Sunderland hadn't earned their lead, but it was soon cancelled out after Florian Wirtz's deflected effort found the net.

Wirtz will have to continue his wait for a Liverpool goal, after the Premier League confirmed the equaliser would go down as a Nordi Mukiele own goal.

While Liverpool fans are getting much more used to going home disappointed this season, the frustration with their own players remains high.

During the match, both Ibrahima Konate was once again at the receiving end of fan complaints, following reports Real Madrid have abandoned their pursuit of signing the defender for free next summer.

One fan wrote: "Not sure what planet Ibou Konate is on this season but it certainly isn’t earth, all over the place yet again."

Another added: "I can't believe some of the things Konate is doing out there."

This comes after the French international had publicly responded to criticism from Jamie Carragher for his displays last week.

"We have to take this moment on the chest," he wrote on X.

"Criticism is part of football, and we'll fight back every time and come through this storm."

Konate wasn't the only Liverpool player slammed by the fans, with Joe Gomez suffering a similar fate for his performance.

"Joe Gomez is the worst player I’ve ever seen for Liverpool he’s terrible. I’m embarrassed to watch him play for us. Closely followed by Konate," one fan posted.

Another fumed: "Get Joe Gomez and Konate off the squad."

A third joked: "I'd rather have Salah play right back than Joe Gomez."
