Liverpool fans have spotted the ruthless decision made by the club regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold merchandise sold on the club website.

Having confirmed that he will be leaving his boyhood club at the end of the season, Alexander-Arnold has just two matches left of his Liverpool career.

The first of which is an away trip to the Amex stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion, before the Reds return to Anfield to host FA Cup winners Crystal Palace on the final day of the season.

Ahead of the first game against Brighton, many fans visited the club shop, and they noticed one brutal change that had been made ahead of Alexander-Arnold's imminent departure.

As pointed out by several fans on social media, Liverpool's club shop have made the decision to heavily discount LFC Player Scarf with the defender's face, name and signature on it.

Typically, Liverpool sell player scarves for £16, however, Alexander-Arnold's can now be purchased for just £5, which is just shy of a 70% discount.

This decision is likely influenced by the huge backlash that the 26-year-old has received from fans after confirming his decision to leave in the summer, demonstrated by fans who booed him coming onto the Anfield pitch during the 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

But many Liverpool fans have pointed out that the discount likely won't have any impact on frustrated fans purchasing the scarf, with some even claiming they wouldn't take it for free.

Reacting to the discount on social media, one fan claimed: "£11 pound reduction and it’s still a scam."

While one joked: "A very expensive toilet wipe."

And another added: "Just stop selling it. I wouldn’t take for free."

Another fan simply pointed out: "They've to make a clearance of all the stuff amassed they have! Too late who's gonna buy it?"

Although nothing has been officially confirmed, it has been widely reported that Alexander-Arnold will link up with England teammate Jude Bellingham and join Real Madrid ahead of next season.

Following the departure of Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season, it appears likely that Alexander-Arnold will be coached by Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso, who is expected to take over in the Bernabeu dugout.
