Liverpool supporters think the club has aimed a dig at Trent Alexander-Arnold just weeks after he left the Premier League champions for Real Madrid.
Alexander-Arnold, 26, officially became a Real Madrid player on June 1, having joined from Liverpool ahead of the Club World Cup.
The England international has since made two appearances for Xabi Alonso’s side, making his debut against Al Hilal last Wednesday before making his first start during the 3-1 win against Pachuca on Sunday.

And despite his time at Anfield now being behind him, fans think the club has aimed a subtle dig at him.
On Monday, Liverpool confirmed that centre-back Nathaniel Phillips has completed a move to Championship side West Brom.

“Nathaniel Phillips has completed a permanent transfer to West Bromwich Albion,” a statement posted to the club’s media channels read.

“Everyone at Liverpool FC would like to thank Nat for his efforts and wish him the very best for the future.”
Fans then compared this to the statement released when Alexander-Arnold’s departure was confirmed.
“We can confirm an offer has been accepted for Trent Alexander-Arnold from Real Madrid for his transfer upon the opening of the June transfer window,” a club statement posted on May 30 read, confirming the player’s departure.
Of course, it must be noted that a longer statement posted to Liverpool’s official website stated that “Alexander-Arnold leaves Liverpool FC with the club appreciative and grateful for his contribution to those successes”.

Trent was also a key figure in the Premier League trophy parade, as well as featuring in a video when he first confirmed that he was leaving the club.
Despite this, fans were still quick to offer their thoughts on social media.
One said: “The website alone says how much the club are distancing from him, Kelleher still on there, no new signings yet, but they've gone through the effort of removing a certain man.”

Another added: "As it should be. One’s a club legend, and the other was an rb who thought he was too good to defend.”
A third explained: “Class from Admin, I’ll always remember this.”
While a fourth claimed: "Ahhh Liverpool’s admin is so wicked."
