Trent Alexander-Arnold has broken his silence following Liverpool’s 5-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur that clinched the Premier League title on Sunday.

Alexander-Arnold, 26, started the match at Anfield having scored the winner during the previous fixture against Leicester City on April 20.

After the 5-1 victory, he was part of the jubilant celebrations despite his future still being unclear.

The likes of Mo Salah, Arne Slot and Virgil van Dijk all took part in interviews on the pitch after their triumph, but Alexander-Arnold did not speak to the media.

American broadcaster Peacock claimed that they were told he was being kept away from the media and would not be available for any interview, seemingly due to the speculation surrounding his future.

However, the 26-year-old broke his silence with an Instagram post on Monday morning (April 28).

He posted several photographs of himself alongside his teammates with the caption: “For the City. For the Fans.”

As things stand, the England international's contract will expire at the end of June, which would allow him to join his next club for free, as Real Madrid have been heavily linked with the player for some time.

Fans were quick to offer their thoughts in the comments section of the post.

One said: "Stay.. this is your city, your club, your people."

Another added: "Help us beg this man to stay."

While a third commented: "Sign the contract."

What has Trent Alexander-Arnold said about his future?

The right-back has been fairly tight-lipped regarding his future, although he did offer his thoughts following Liverpool's 1-0 win over Leicester on April 20.

Shortly after Liverpool's win at the King Power, he was directly asked whether he will leave Liverpool by Sky Sports' Patrick Davidson, to which Alexander-Arnold replied: "Look, obviously, like I've said all season, I am not going to speak on my situation, I am not going to go into details but these days like today are always special: scoring goals, winning games, being close to winning titles and being in title races, they are special moments that will live for me forever. I am glad to be a part of them."

He added: "To do it for the fans here is a very special moment. As much as we do it for ourselves and our family, we do it for the fans as well, they are the ones who travel to the games and spend their money, so it is the least they deserve to see us give 100% on the pitch and win games."
