Liverpool fans are convinced that a shock player could play a big role in next season after spotting his performances in training.

After nearly two months off of the pitch, Liverpool got their pre-season underway with a 3-1 win over Championship side Preston North End away at the Deepdale Stadium.

The highly emotional fixture allowed fans to get their first look at several of the club's new signings, with Giorgi Mamardashvili, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong all in action.

But it wasn't just the new signings that caught the attention during the match, as one squad player stood out with a seriously impressive performance in the pre-season opener.

And after new footage of the player in training emerged online, fans are convinced that he will have a major impact on Liverpool's 2025/26 season.

After star defender Trent Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool in June to join Real Madrid for a cut-price fee of just £10million, there were serious concerns about the future of Arne Slot's defence.

Bringing in Frimpong as a new right-back alleviated some concerns, but fans are now completely at ease after seeing Conor Bradley's recent pre-season performances.

The Northern Irishman opened the scoring for the Reds against Preston North End and looked in control of the right side of Liverpool's defence throughout the first half.

Days after the match, Liverpool posted a series of clips from the club's latest training session, in which Bradley again caught the attention of fans, with many suggesting that he will take the place as Liverpool's starting right-back next season.

Reacting to the footage on X, one fan wrote: "Conor Bradley looks immense in this. Think a lot of people don’t realise he’s going to be our starting RB this season, if he can stay fit.

Another agreed, adding: "100%. All this talk about Frimpong, who is a fantastic addition, but Bradley is stronger all around IMO."

While one suggested: "People haven’t really thought about what Frimpongs most valuable trait is, it’s his flexibility, start Salah and Bradley and use Frimpong as a sub for either guy, can really change the game with positional versatility."

And another asked: "I agree, and really happy for him to be our starting right back - just makes me wonder how we're going to utilise Frimpong at the same time?"
