David Beckham has already sent Trent Alexander-Arnold major warning about leaving Liverpool for Real Madrid

The former Manchester United man played for Real Madrid 159 times between 2003 and 2007.

Former Manchester United and England winger David Beckham has issued a stark warning to Trent Alexander-Arnold as the Liverpool man is linked with a move to the Spanish giants.

Beckham, 49, played for Los Blancos between 2003 and 2007 and knows the challenges that come with being a Madrid player more than most.

Of course, Alexander-Arnold, 26, has been heavily linked with a potential move to Madrid as his Liverpool contract is set to expire at the end of the 2024/24 season.

When the January transfer window opens on the first of the month, he will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future off the pitch, the England international has continued to impress this season.

This term, he has registered four assists and one goal – in the 5-0 win against West Ham – with Liverpool currently sitting top of both the Premier League and 36-team Champions League group stage.

But Beckham revealed the difference between playing for Los Blancos and the other clubs he represented during his trophy-laden career.

"As big as [Manchester] United was — that was my team — and I thought it was the biggest and best club in the world...” Beckham said when speaking on CBS earlier this year.

“But then you arrive at somewhere like Real Madrid, and all of a sudden there's a different feeling.

"I must admit, when we (United) played Real Madrid in the Champions League at Old Trafford, I waited in the tunnel to watch the Real Madrid players walk off the bus.

“Because there's something about that club that is special. I was used to playing at United, I go to Madrid, and I'm playing with Zizou [Zinedine Zidane], Roberto Carlos, Raul, Ronaldo [Nazario], all of these great players, and I feel like I really have to get my game together."

It must be considered that Beckham’s personal life, due to his marriage with the Spice Girl's singer Victoria, was the subject of scrutiny from the world’s media, a problem Alexander-Arnold is less likely to deal with if he were to make a move to Madrid.
