Mohamed Salah has given Liverpool fans hope he could be fit far sooner than anticipated.

On Wednesday evening Jurgen Klopp's men, who are unbeaten in their last 14 top flight games, welcome Chelsea to Anfield, hoping to continue their fine run of form.

League leaders Liverpool are then set to travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal in crucial top of the table Premier League clash on Sunday.

It has been widely expected that Reds talisman Salah will be ruled out for both encounters as he continues to recover from the hamstring injury suffered during Egypt’s Africa Cup of Nations clash against Ghana.

However, Liverprool and the 31-year-old has since shared an Instagram of the player running on grass at the club's Melwood training ground.

The post has led to some optimistic supporters believing that he could be in contention to at least feature in the Arsenal game at the weekend.

When the injury was first sustained there had been hopes Salah would recover in time to face Mikel Arteta's side.

However, speaking ahead of Liverpool’s match against Chelsea, Klopp ruled the winger out of the team’s next two matches.

He told reporters: “There was no pressure on him other than wanting to get fit as quickly as possible anyway. We don't rush. If you could rush the healing process, Thiago wouldn't be out for 10 months.

“Mo is not ready. Out for this game, out for the next. It could have been worse but he is not available at the moment.”

Providing updates on other players, Klopp said: “Macca trained yesterday so should be fine. Thiago trained which was an incredible moment after all these months. And to train at the level he does. But he needs time.”
