Mohamed Salah has been urged to reject a move to Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad by a current star of their first team squad.

The Saudi league made several attempts to sign Salah for Al Ittihad in the summer, with Liverpool rejecting a verbal offer of £150 million prior to deadline day.

Another bid was considered, but the decision was ultimately reached that Al Ittihad would try to sign Salah again in future transfer windows.

According to the Daily Mail, Al Ittihad are targeting former Reds sporting director Julian Ward in order to aid their recruitment under new head coach Marcelo Gallardo.

Such a move could help the club to bring in Salah, and reports suggest that they are preparing another bid that could be made as early as next month.

Salah, whose contract at Anfield expires in the summer of 2025, recently scored his 200th goal for the club in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Egyptian has scored 11 goals in 17 Premier League appearances this term, with only Manchester City's Erling Haaland (14) scoring more.

You would expect, therefore, that new Al Ittihad stars such as Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Luis Felipe would welcome Salah joining the club.

But one Al Ittihad player - former Liverpool midfielder Fabinho, who left Anfield in the summer for a fee of £40 million - has revealed he does NOT want Salah to join the club.

Instead of a personal dislike for the winger, though, Fabinho has revealed that the Egyptian is happy at Anfield, and does not want to see him leave - at least in the short-term.

Speaking to talkSPORT after Al Ittihad beat Auckland City 3-0 in the Club World Cup, he said: "At this moment, Mo Salah is happy at Liverpool.

"He's scoring goals every game and he has been their best player. I'm very happy for Mo.

"This season he will stay at Liverpool so I wish him all the best and hope he keeps scoring goals and winning trophies with Liverpool.

"I'm really happy for the boys. At the moment they are top of the league, of course there is still much to play in the Premier League and there are some clubs next to them like Arsenal, Man City, even Aston Villa, they are doing very well this season."
