Mo Salah named Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in his dream five-a-side team of current players, with Kylian Mbappe also featuring alongside one of his Liverpool teammates.

The Egyptian forward, who has been instrumental in Liverpool's title run this season, scoring 16 times, will go down as one of the greatest players in Premier League history.

In fact, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes the prolific Salah should be regarded as one of the best goalscorers the Premier League has even seen.

“I put him that highly; I think he's a fantastic player and got that self-belief which separates him from the normal players," Ferdinand added in October last year.

“The consistency that he's played at such a high level puts him in that elite bar of players that we've seen in the Premier League. Liverpool need to try and keep him for as long as they can if they want to remain successful.”

Ferdinand is a big fan of Liverpool's number 11. Ahead of the Champions League final in 2022, the former England international sat down with Salah on his YouTube channel to discuss a range of different subjects.

And one of them was the winger's dream five-a-side team that featured Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, as well as Kylian Mbappe, Trent Alexander-Arnold and himself.

Salah has previously heaped praise on eight-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi.

Asked what would happen if the Argentine played in the Premier League, he responded: "You are talking about the best player in the world, wherever he goes, he will play football, and football for Messi is a divine talent."

Salah has also named Ronaldo as someone who has inspired him over the years.

Speaking to Liverpool’s YouTube channel about the players he admires most, Salah said: “I love the way Ronaldo [of Brazil] was playing and [Zinedine] Zidane and [Francesco] Totti. These guys, I always looked at them and they just enjoy the game.

"Cristiano [Ronaldo] was also the one when I started playing in Europe more, you see the way he dedicated everything to football is insane, the way he looks after himself. You can see everything, his numbers."

Salah added: “But these guys I looked at when I was young and I just wished to play one game with them, or to be like them one day. I had a good opportunity to play with Totti and I played with him for two years in Rome. It was an incredible time, I just loved it. He was incredible to be fair and his technique was insane. Very, very good person as well.”
