Liverpool fans immediately noticed star player Mohamed Salah's reaction to Declan Rice speaking about the title race during the PFA Awards.

On Tuesday night, many of the best players in the Premier League arrived at the Manchester Opera House for the annual Player Football Awards.

Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers was named the Men's PFA Young Player of the Year, while Liverpool legend Salah became the first to player to be named the Men's PFA Player of the Year for the third time.

The likes of Virgil van Dijk, Rice and Alexander Isak were named in the PFA Team of the Year, while Sir Gareth Southgate was named the recipient of the PFA Merit Award.

Of course, attending the awards show means that each of the big names spoke about the ongoing Premier League season, and Liverpool fans couldn't help but notice Salah's reaction to Rice talking about the title race.

Heading into the 2025/26 Premier League season, many have claimed that the title race will be between Liverpool and Arsenal, given their top of the table battle in last season.

With both sides securing wins in their opening matches last weekend, it appears that this could again be the case this season, something that wasn't lost on Rice when asked to evaluate his recent seasons with Arsenal.

"It's been really tough, coming second three years in a row," Rice said.

"But I've said it before, in life you've got to go through some small losses in order to win and we're going to keep going, we're going to keep pushing, and hopefully something can come for us."

As expected, Liverpool fans were quick to tease the Arsenal star on social media, with many of pointing out that Salah quickly looked to teammate and fellow Team of the Year winner Van Dijk during the moment.

Reacting to Rice's comments on X, one Liverpool fan wrote: "Mo immediately looking at virg when rice said they’ve come 2nd three years in a row."

While another claimed: "Salah was trying too hard to hold that laugh."

And one joked: "This man need to put that tiny violin away! Mo nearly p***** himself."

Both Liverpool and Arsenal will have the opportunity to take the driving seat in the title race on August 31 when they face each other in a highly anticipated clash at Anfield.
