Liverpool presenters 'told not to mention' two players on LFCTV amid transfer speculation

Liverpool presenters have been told not to mention two players.

LFCTV presenters have been told not to mention two players on their live broadcasts.

Liverpool have spent the past week at a training camp in Germany preparing for the upcoming campaign. In that time they have played two friendlies against second-tier German opposition, claiming a 4-2 win over Karlsruher followed by a hectic 4-4 draw with Greuther Fürth.

But behind the scenes, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is on the cusp of a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq, who are managed by Reds legend Steven Gerrard.

Henderson underwent a medical in Manchester on Friday and will end a 12-year association with Liverpool to make the move to the Saudi Pro League outfit.

Meanwhile, Fabinho is also set to move to the Gulf nation having been the subject of a £40million bid from Al-Ittihad.

While it has since emerged that the Brazilian could miss out on his move to the Saudi outfit due to legislation that could prevent him from importing his two French bulldogs into the country, Al-Ittihad’s president landed in London to press ahead with the deal on Sunday.

And it appears LFCTV have strict rules stopping presenters and pundits from mentioning the departing players.

LFCTV presenters can’t mention Henderson and Fabinho

With their departures imminent it appears LFCTV have been told not to mention Henderson and Fabinho in their coverage.

Indeed, against Fürth the Reds fielded attacker Cody Gakpo in central midfield due to an injury to Dominik Szoboszlai.

The move made Liverpool’s lack of strength in depth in midfield more conspicuous, yet Henderson and Fabinho were still not mentioned once in either the Karlsruher or Fürth coverage.

That is until former Liverpool player Jason McAteer said in the post-match analysis of the Fürth game: "I know we aren't supposed to talk about it but if Jordan Henderson and Fabinho leave they're going to need two more midfielders"
