Liverpool have agreed a brand new deal with Mohamed Salah's potential successor, Ben Doak.

On Wednesday, the Reds confirmed via their website that the 17-year-old had put pen to paper on a new contract in Merseyside after impressing within the club's youth ranks.

He is viewed by some as a potential long-term replacement for Salah, should he continue to progress and improve.

The teenager seriously impressed for Scotland during an 2025 U21 Euro qualification match against Spain over the international break, demonstrating his electric pace and quick feet.

While he has made six senior appearances for Liverpool, notching his first goal for the club with a header during a 4-0 win over Leicester City.

And that has seen his price tag raise by over seven times as much as he was worth 18 months ago, after Liverpool signed him for around £600,000 from Celtic in March 2022

Now according to the CIES observatory, Doak is worth €5 million euros (£4.3m), just over seven times as much as Jurgen Klopp paid for him.

The German's admiration for Doak is well documented after he brought him on to replace Salah during the Reds’ opening Premier League match against Chelsea.

During Liverpool’s pre-season campaign, Klopp praised Doak, saying: “We saw the kids how good they were. James never played a six before and today he played there and it was so nice to watch, to be honest. Bobby first half did really well.

“Ben Doak, oh my God, it’s much fun to watch these kids. Calum I’ve known him only nine days, he was injured before and now he was there. Koumas came on, Conor Bradley really good.”
