Liverpool fans have had enough of one of their star players following their draw against Manchester United.

Liverpool missed out on the chance to regain top spot in the Premier League table following their 2-2 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The points were shared as Mohamed Salah converted a late penalty to secure a draw.

Luis Diaz had opened the scoring in the first-half, with Bruno Fernandes, who scored from inside the centre circle, and Kobbie Mainoo scoring for the hosts.

Liverpool, who lost 4-3 against Man United last month in the FA Cup, failed to get going in the second-half as they dropped points in their pursuit of the title.

And fans made their feelings known after the result as they demand Harvey Elliott starts ahead of Dominik Szoboszlai for the remainder of the season.

Szoboszlai's lacklustre performance against the Red Devils frustrated Liverpool fans on social media.

One X user wrote: "Elliott needs to be starting over Szoboszlai, shouldn’t even be a debate."

A second tweeted: "I do NOT want to see Szoboszlai start ahead of Elliott again this season."

A third added: "If I see Szoboszlai start one game over Elliott I will lose my mind."

A fourth exclaimed: "There is no way Szoboszlai should start ahead of Elliott. A lot of you Liverpool fans are just delusional."

A fifth said: "Harvey Elliott should start over Szoboszlai for the remaining premier league games."

Another commented: "Start Harvey for Szoboszlai against Palace. He deserves to start. Szoboszlai doesn't."

Liverpool are level on points with Arsenal but trail on goal difference. They both have 71 points on the board, with the Gunners boasting a superior goal difference. Manchester City occupy third place, with 70 points to their name.

They all have seven league games remaining as Jurgen Klopp's side resume their league campaign on April 14 against Crystal Palace.
