Liverpool fans have called on Arne Slot to replace one player after the first half of their Premier League clash against Arsenal.

In what was billed as potentially one of the matches of the season so far, there was plenty of action at both ends during the first half at the Emirates Stadium.

Bukayo Saka, who was restored to the starting line-up after recovering from injury, gave Arsenal the lead inside just nine minutes.

Following a long ball forward from Ben White, Saka ran forward and cut inside beyond Andy Robertson before firing the ball beyond Caoimhin Kelleher.

The Reds equalised on 18 minutes, with Virgil van Dijk heading the ball in from Luis Diaz's flick-on following a corner.

Arsenal made it 2-1 shortly before half-time through Mikel Merino's header, with the goal given after a lengthy VAR check after it was deemed that Van Dijk had played the goalscorer onside.

They were also denied a penalty after a collision between Ibrahima Konate and Kai Havertz shortly before their second goal, with VAR deeming that there was not enough contact between the two players to warrant any action being taken by the on-pitch referee.

Saka would prove to be a constant threat to Liverpool with his direct dribbling in the first half, but Liverpool fans criticised left-back Robertson over his performance in the first half - with some supporters even calling for manager Slot to dip into the transfer market.

One wrote: "We really need to go big for a left-back because Robertson is becoming sad to watch."

Another added: "Really need a new LB in the summer."

A third simply asked: "Robertson are you kidding me."

And a fourth stated: "Bukayo Saka has absolutely rinsed Andy Robertson."

And a fifth added: "Robertson a clear weak point in that Liverpool team."
