Liverpool fans tell Arne Slot to 'leave three players in Plymouth' after stunning FA Cup upset

Liverpool fans made their feelings clear following their shock FA Cup defeat to Plymouth.

Liverpool fans have told Arne Slot to 'leave THREE players in Plymouth' following their stunning FA Cup upset.

Liverpool were knocked out of the FA Cup after losing 1-0 to Championship side Plymouth on Sunday.

Ryan Hardie converted a second-half penalty to secure his team a famous win over the Premier League leaders.

Liverpool fans on social media aimed their anger and frustration with the result at not one but THREE players.

Kostas Tsimikas, Harvey Elliott, who conceded the penalty, and Federico Chiesa were subjected to ruthless criticism by supporters following their showings at Home Park.

One X user wrote: "Leave Tskimas, Elliott and Chiesa in Plymouth. Diabolical performances and attitude for senior players. Plymouth deserved the win."

A second said: "Tsimikas, Elliott and Chiesa what a world class performance guys. Seemed like they weren’t bothered enough and the quality shown from them was utterly rubbish."

A third fumed: "Voronin away at Arsenal was the worst individual performance I’ve ever seen in a Liverpool shirt. Elliott, Chiesa and Tsimikas well and truly exceeded that today."

A fourth added: "Some of you lot think Tsimikas is better than Robbo. You should all be ashamed of yourself."

Another commented: "Chiesa and Elliott today man. Deary me."

Speaking after the defeat, Elliott said the Reds 'weren't good enough' in an honest admission.

"Disappointing. It wasn’t our best game at all, we all knew that on the pitch. But I think one thing about the team today, we fought to the end, we kept trying, we kept pushing. But sometimes this is what happens in football - today we weren’t good enough," he told the club's official website. "I’d say it was harsh to lose the way we did but games like this, where we don’t play as well as we should do, can go either way and today it didn’t go our way.

"But it’s a learning curve again, there were a few learning curves from today - youngsters making their debuts and the younger lads playing, so it’s always nice to see that. But we just have to rest up and go again on Wednesday now."

Liverpool's quadruple chase is over as Arne Slot loses just his fourth game of the season.
