Jurgen Klopp ready to break Liverpool's hearts by completing deal with shock club out of nowhere

Jurgen Klopp could have a huge say on whether a player potentially joins Liverpool despite the German leaving the club at the end of last season.

Klopp, 57, left Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 campaign after winning eight trophies at the club – including the Premier League in 2019/20 and the Champions League the season prior.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss has since undertaken a role as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer and now oversees the group's network of clubs, which includes RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig.

And he may have a huge impact on a potential transfer this summer.

According to reports by the Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Klopp is keen on bringing Real Madrid’s Arda Guler to RB Leipzig despite Liverpool also reportedly showing interest in the Turkey international.

Guler, 20, signed for Real in July 2023 but really made a name for himself at last summer’s Euros with several excellent performances for Turkey.

However, this season he has struggled to stay fit and has scored just three times in 31 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Although Ancelotti, 65, recently praised the youngster after he performed well in Madrid’s 3-2 victory against Leganes in La Liga on Saturday.

“He [Arda Guler] played well and showed his quality,” said Ancelotti in his post-match press conference.

“He moves the ball very well and sees the game really well. He's not as explosive as the strikers we have, but he was useful and I changed him to have fresh legs and more physicality up front.”

It is still unclear if Madrid are willing to part ways with Guler given his obvious potential. And considering that he is contracted to the club until the summer of 2029, it would likely take a huge sum to sign him with Transfermarkt valuing him at €45m (£37.6m).

During the winter transfer window, there were suggestions that Guler could be loaned to another club to help him gain more first-team experience - although no such move materialised.

However, in recent days the forward has been linked with a potential loan move to Bournemouth, which could 'facilitate' Cherries defender Dean Huijsen moving to Los Blancos, according to Spanish outlet Cadena SER.
