Jurgen Klopp has accepted a first managerial job since leaving Liverpool at the end of last season.

Following nine years in the job Klopp stepped down as Liverpool boss at the end of last season after "running out of energy".

He had an emotional farewell following his final game in charge of Wolves in May and was replaced by Arne Slot at Anfield.

Klopp is enjoying an extended break from the game and though he was linked with the USMNT and England jobs, is not expected to return for a permanent position anytime soon.

The German has been spending time in a villa in Mallorca but reports say he will be making a surprise comeback in the dugout.

On September 7, Borussia Dortmund are putting on a testimonial match for Polish pair Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski.

Signal Iduna Park will host a special tribute game to the Dortmund legends and Klopp, who won two Bundesliga titles with them, has got the call up.

Dortmund posted a funny skit on their Instagram page where Klopp's participation was confirmed.

Piszczek told his compatriot, "We need a coach and I have an idea, we'll call the retired coach".

Klopp then appeared, wearing sunglasses and was his usual comedic self on the phone, saying: "You finally have your farewell game. Oh my god. And you want to train before the game. Are you stupid?!".

Piszczek then brought up the fact that they still needed to decide which team Klopp would manage, though the 57-year-old didn't seem fussed in the slightest.

He admitted: "I couldn't care less. I don't worry about it at all. I do it like I used to, I start thinking about it five minutes beforehand. "Is the game sold out? I'd buy a ticket if I wasn't coming anyway!"

Klopp managed Dortmund between 2008 and 2015 and won 180 of his 319 games.
