Jurgen Klopp gave a hilarious six-word greeting as he turned up late for his Liverpool press conference on Friday.

Back in January the Klopp announced that he will step down as Liverpool manager at the end of the season after nine years in the job.

With just two matches of his tenure remaining, the German coach is determined to enjoy every last second of his time at the club.

On Friday Klopp gave his press conference ahead of Liverpool's trip to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Monday.

The 56-year-old turned up late, and as he entered the room said to the assembled journalist: "Hello and sorry!"

One reporter then joked that it was the second time in three weeks that Klopp had been late to a press conference, to which the manager replied: "To be honest... who gives a [s***]."

The journalists in the room laughed at the light-hearted interaction, a moment typical of Klopp's relationship with the media during his time at Anfield.

Klopp's final season at Liverpool has not gone according to plan, with his side suffering elimination in the quarter-finals of both the FA Cup and UEFA Europa League to Manchester United and Atalanta respectively.

Liverpool were locked in a three-way Premier League title race with Manchester City and Arsenal, but a dip in form in recent months has left them five points off top spot with just two games left to play.

Liverpool will finish the season as League Cup winners, the fifth major title Klopp has led the club to.

Monday's match is of greater significance to Villa, who will secure fourth place and a spot in next season's revamped UEFA Champions League with a win.

When announcing his departure from Liverpool, Klopp cited the desire to live a more normal life as one of the reasons behind his decision.

He has ruled out taking charge of another English club if he decides to return to management one day.
