Liverpool fans loved Jayden Danns' post-match interview following his sensational cameo appearance against Southampton in the FA Cup.

The Reds set up a mouth-watering quarter-final tie against Manchester United following their 3-0 victory over Southampton on Wednesday.

Danns, who entered the fray in the 63rd minute, bagged a brace, scoring his first goals for the club in the process.

It was his third appearance for Liverpool this season, having made his debut last week in the Premier League against Luton Town.

He featured in his side's Carabao Cup triumph against Chelsea as he made a huge impact against the Saints last night.

After his goals, the 18-year-old spoke to ITV's Gabriel Clarke and gave a tremendous post-match interview, which fans online loved.

"It's a dream come true," he said.

"I've supported the club since I was young, since birth, so to come on and score at the Kop end - it's unreal. It doesn't feel real to me. It feels like I'm in a movie. I don't think I'll sleep tonight."

On his first goal, he added: "Obviously it was [Harvey Elliott] who slipped me in. I've just seen him and I thought he's got the vision to make it.

"The goalkeeper came close and when he comes that close you have to dink it. "The second one was just pure joy. I didn't think it would come to me. I was happy with one but when two came I just went sliding [and] as you've seen I lost all composure."

Asked what his dad, Neil, would have thought about his showing at Anfield, the budding forward replied: "He said last time when I made my debut he was crying, so I don't know what he's going to be doing now.

"He's in the stands watching and so is my mum and my brother and my sister and my nan. It's unbelievable."

Danns' post-match interview went down well among Liverpool fans on social media.

One X user wrote: "Jayden Danns absolutely buzzing. What a lovely interview - just young lad living out his dream scoring for his boyhood team at the Kop end. Doesn’t get any better than that for an 18-year-old."

A second tweeted: "That Jayden Danns interview melted me heart la, f**kin boss seeing young lads living the dream! What an impact he had!"

A third added: "That interview with Jayden Danns was class. He is living the dream. Attitude in the interview was top notch too."

Another said: "The pure joy from Jayden Danns in that post-match interview was amazing to see."

With Liverpool's current injury woes, Danns could play a big role until the end of the season.
