A fresh update on the future of Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate has been delivered after another poor display in the 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray on Wednesday night.
The Reds suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time under Arne Slot, with Victor Osimhen scoring the only goal of the game with a first-half penalty after Dominik Szoboszlai was penalised for a challenge on Baris Alper Yilmaz inside the box.
Despite dominating possession, Liverpool could not find the breakthrough and the performance of many players was called into question.
Jamie Carragher has urged Arne Slot to take drastic action with £115 million signing Florian Wirtz, while plenty of fans are also calling for Konate to dropped after another shaky outing at the back.

The Frenchman has been off the boil since the Community Shield loss to Crystal Palace in August, lacking concentration and producing a series of costly errors in games.
Update on Konate's future after Galatasaray struggles
The former RB Leipzig defender is in the final year of his contract and rumours about a possible switch to Real Madrid continue to swirl.

Speculation about Konate potentially moving to Los Blancos has only increased after compatriot William Saliba penned a new long-term contract with Arsenal.
However, according to L'Equipe, there has been some movement in regards to Konate's situation.
Liverpool are understood to have opened initial talks with Konate's camp a short while back but the offer was not what the 26-year-old had been hoping for.
That was in December and after talks were placed on hold, they resumed again and Liverpool revised their offer more than once.

It's claimed a fresh offer was made two weeks ago and negotiations are still ongoing, with Liverpool chiefs confident of tying Konate down to fresh terms despite a number of factors needing to be decided.

Konate remains Virgil van Dijk's regular partner at centre-back but he has not been at it this season, with Ryan Gravenberch and Joe Gomez potential options to replace him in the backline.
Liverpool did bring in a new centre-back when they paid £26 million to acquire Giovanni Leoni from Parma but the Italian tore his ACL in his debut against Southampton last month.
