Arsenal fans think Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai should have been shown a second yellow card for kicking the ball away against Nottingham Forest.

The Reds suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Forest at Anfield, with Callum Hudson-Odoi scoring the only goal of the match on 72 minutes.

Liverpool had 15 shots on goal but couldn't find a way past the Forest defence.

It was their first defeat under new manager Arne Slot, and the first goal they have conceded in the four games that the Dutchman has taken charge.

But Gunners fans believe the Reds were fortunate to have 11 players on the pitch at the end of the game.

After pulling back Hudson-Odoi in the attacking third and referee Michael Oliver calling a foul, Szoboszlai took a step forward before firing the ball into the Liverpool penalty area.

While it was unclear whether the midfielder heard the whistle - and the offence took place in the latter stages of the game when Liverpool were 1-0 down - Arsenal fans thought he should have been punished for kicking the ball away after Declan Rice was punished for the same offence against Brighton.

One fan wrote: "Szoboszlai already on a yellow, boots the ball away after the ref calls for a free-kick. No second yellow. Pretends to be shocked."

A second asked: "No red card for Szoboszlai there? He booted the ball after the whistle was blown. Guess it's only an Arsenal thing."

A third said: "Szoboszlai should be getting his second yellow card for booting the ball away there."

And a fourth added: "Szoboszlai, on a yellow, kicked the ball away to delay a free kick. Letter of the law anyone?"
