Dominik Szoboszlai’s name was spelt wrong on the back of his Liverpool shirt vs Bayern Munich

Dominik Szoboszlai was involved as Liverpool faced German champions Bayern Munich

Eagle-eyed fans have spotted that Dominik Szoboszlai’s name was spelt wrong on the back of his Liverpool shirt against Bayern Munich.

After a comfortable 4-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday, Liverpool were up against Bayern in Singapore on Wednesday afternoon.

Despite being 2-0 up thanks to goals from Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk, the game was level at 2-2 by halftime courtesy of Serg Gnabry and Leroy Sane.

In the second half, Liverpool went 3-2 ahead through Luis Diaz but goals from Josip Stanisic and Frans Kraetzig sealed a 4-3 win for the Bavarian club.

During the match, it was spotted that Liverpool’s kit staff had made a mistake when spelling summer signing Szoboszlai’s name.

Instead of the correct spelling of Szoboszlai, the shirt had ’Szosbozlai’ on it.

After losing the final match of their pre-season tour of Singapore, manager Jurgen Klopp was asked about his team’s defensive display.

He said: “Around the goals obviously not that great, but there were a lot of other moments that were really, really good as well. The last line was good. We have to still adjust. It’s not so much about the boys and stuff, [but] yes it is, of course, in these moments.

“The first goal we concede, Trent and Joel have to react better. This pass, I don’t think it is [able] to avoid, to be 100 per cent honest. We cannot always be there and block all balls, sometimes balls will fly towards our last line. It was just a little doubt in between, but both stand on both feet – I am not sure exactly when it was, 30 minutes when they scored the first goal? – so we felt the intensity properly then, like humans are.”

Klopp continued: “I think it was a similar time [in the] second half, between Joey and Ibou. It’s nothing about speed or whatever, it is just about awareness – check the situation.”

Liverpool have a match against Darmstadt left before they kick off their 23/24 Premier League campaign against Chelsea on 13 August.
