Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is being tracked by another Premier League club and could be on the move before the January transfer window slams shut, according to reports.

The 24-year-old, who made 46 appearances for Liverpool in 2024-25 as they won the Premier League, has once again featured regularly this season, starting nine of the last 12 games in all competitions.

Despite his form, Jones has yet to earn a long-term contract. In fact, the England international is currently in the final 18 months of his Liverpool deal, which has naturally alerted potential suitors.

Tottenham Hotspur were linked with a January move before they swooped to sign Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid.

And with days remaining of the window, it has emerged that Chelsea have been made aware of Jones’ potential availability and are said to be keeping tabs on the situation, according to Simon Phillips.

At present, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Andrey Santos are the only three natural central midfielders available to Liam Rosenior, so the Blues are in the market for a player to fill that position.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea want to sign a midfielder who has Premier League experience.

They have been strongly linked with a move for Juventus' Douglas Luiz, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest but has started just five league games all season.

N'Golo Kante is also being touted for a potential return to Stamford Bridge, although it appears Turkish side Fenerbahce are close to agreeing a loan deal for the former Leicester City midfielder.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano provided the following update on Kante's situation.

"Fenerbahce are pushing and pushing to try to get the N’Golo Kante deal done with Al-Ittihad," said Romano. "The agreement with the player is almost done, just fixing some details.

"Fenerbahce are insisting. Why? Because they know some Premier League clubs over the weekend called the agents of N’Golo Kante. Fenerbahce are aware of English clubs trying to understand if there is some space, some way, to enter into the Kante deal.

"And so, Fenerbahce remain convinced that the player wants to join them, that the player wants to get this opportunity to move to Turkey and to go to Fenerbahce. So they are insisting, they’re pushing. The agreement with the player, again, is at the final stages."

Romano added: "Club-to-club, they are waiting to unlock the deal with Al-Ittihad, but the deal is on for Kante to Fenerbahce."
