Liverpool fans convinced two players are leaving the club as damning footage emerges from Man City game

Fans of the Premier League leaders had their say on social media as they went 11 points clear of Arsenal on Sunday.

Liverpool supporters think two players are set to leave the club after watching footage before the Man City game.

Liverpool extended their lead at the summit of the Premier League to 11 points with a 2-0 victory against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday.

Mo Salah scored and provided the assist for Dominik Szoboszlai’s strike, which had fans gathered inside the away end singing, “We’re going to win the league”, as the City faithful left in their droves after a flat performance from the home side.

The mood surrounding Liverpool is mostly positive and why wouldn’t it be given their success this term?

However, it appears that not everyone is so thrilled with their involvement - or lack of involvement for that matter.

Ahead of Liverpool’s clash with City yesterday, a video emerged of two players who did not start the match at the Etihad.

Konstantinos Tsimikas and Darwin Nunez were both named as substitutes by Arne Slot, with the left-back featuring as a late substitute when he replaced Andrew Robertson with 16 minutes left to play.

On Sunday, Nunez, 25, was not given the opportunity to make amends for his shocking miss against Aston Villa last Wednesday.

And fans think both players could leave this summer after damning footage of the pair emerged – which you can watch below.

Fans were quick to give their take on social media.

One said: "Can't have players with that mood around the team. Don't care how much they are disappointed with their performances or match time, a team pulls together. Positivity needed."

Another added: "They need to pick themselves up, they don't do themselves any favours when given the chance to play and we need players to be thinking about the team/end goal.

"BTW, these are 2 players who I expect to be on the move in the summer."

A third explained: "We need to get rid of both in summer."

While a fourth commented: "Nunez is getting sold I wish him the best and hope he picks up."

Tsimikas' current Liverpool contract is set to run until the summer of 2027, while Nunez's deal will expire in June 2028.

The Greek defender has featured just 23 times this term and is seemingly not fancied by Slot.

As for Nunez, he has struggled to find a consistent run of good form and has yet to justify his £85m transfer fee, which Liverpool paid for him when he arrived from Benfica in the summer of 2022.
