A YouTuber has answered the question that every football fan wants to know - how would Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi perform in the same team?

Messi and Ronaldo have dominated the football world since making their debuts for Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon respectively, amassing a huge collection of the biggest trophies in the game and inspiring an entire generation of fans.

They went head-to-head during their time in La Liga as Messi’s Barcelona took on Ronaldo’s Real Madrid, the Argentine winning more domestic titles while Ronaldo enjoyed more success in Europe.

Fans have dreamed on a situation where two of the greatest footballers of all-time came together and many thought it was close to reality during the current Club World Cup where there was intense speculation that Ronaldo could temporarily join Inter Miami.

However, such speculation never became anything more than just that but one YouTuber decided to test out what would happen if both legendary footballers had played alongside each other in the peak of their career.

Zik decided to use an interesting set of conditions of the test with the help of FC 25. He put both Messi and Ronaldo on the worst-team in the game, Irish side Waterford, to see how long it would take to win the Champions League.

In the interests of fairness, other star players such as Ronaldo Nazario and Thierry Henry were also reintroduced to their teams making the challenge even more difficult.

Waterford would need to win their domestic league to qualify for the Champions League which they achieved in season one with Messi finishing as the top assister and Ronaldo the top scorer in a squad where the highest overall after the iconic duo was just 61.

During their first ever Champions League group stage where they faced a prime Barcelona side featuring Xavi, Ronaldinho and Neymar, Waterford failed to win a single game.

To make things even more interesting, Zik introduced a ‘mystery box’ after each unsuccessful season which could improve or hurt their chances of completing their ultimate goal.

In season three, Waterford added Zinedine Zidane to their squad but it wasn’t enough to advance from the group stage again. In season four, both Harry Maguire and Virgil van Dijk were introduced and qualified for the knockouts for the first time after beating a prime Manchester United.

Fast forward to season five and more reinforcements arrived with Luis Suarez, Gareth Bale and Theo Hernandez joining the squad and improving Waterford’s chances as they reach the semi-finals but are knocked out on penalties by Arsenal.

The final piece of the puzzle was the arrival of David Beckham who helped Waterford reach the Champions League final after six seasons where they faced Real Madrid who had signed prime Neymar from Barcelona.

Two goals from Messi in the final was enough to finally secure the trophy in a star-studded team.
