Chelsea took the decision to sack Liam Rosenior after less than four months into his six-and-a-half-year contract after he replaced Enzo Maresca as manager of the club.

The English manager lost his job ahead of the FA Cup semi-final with Leeds United, with the hierarchy losing faith in their appointment and his ability to get them to the final after he lost five consecutive Premier League matches without scoring, the first time the club did this since 1912.

Blues fans never seemed truly convinced with the appointment of Rosenior despite his fine start in the role, and now the club are looking for their sixth permanent manager since the consortium led by Todd Boehly took control of the club.

Rosenior will be aiming to rebuild his managerial career, and he has already been linked with another English club less than a month after his sacking.

The former Hull City manager has been linked with the Watford role after the Hornets made the decision to sack Ed Still after just three months into his tenure.

Watford are a club infamous for not giving their managers time and demanding quick success under the ownership of Gino Pozzo, who have had 22 permanent managers since they took over the club in June 2012.

Rosenior may not be interested in the role at a club who are as cut-throat once again after his time at Chelsea but stranger things have happened in football.

The English manager is not favourite for the job as he is currently 8/1, according to talkSPORT, to take over the position with former Cardiff boss Errol Bulut viewed as the favourite at 2/1.

Other names touted as more likely than Rosenior include Russell Martin, who has been without a managerial role since his dismissal by Rangers earlier this campaign, and Scott Parker, who recently left Burnley with the club set to return to the Championship after a season in the Premier League.
