Football legends from around the world have assembled in South Korea for a spectacular attack-vs-defence showdown and no-one knows about it.

The game has been described as an exhibition and has been organised by South Korean game company Nexon.

Two teams have been formed as FC Spear will be pitted against Shield UTD, both of which consist of icons from football.

The aptly named FC Spear is made up of some of the best former forwards the game has ever seen.

Shield UTD, as the name suggests, is formed with some of the most prominent defenders and defensive midfielders.

FC Spear is captained by Chelsea legend Didier Drogba and their squad features ex-Man United forward Dimitar Berbatov, 2007 Ballon d'Or winner Kaka, Luis Figo, Eden Hazard, Carlos Tevez, Michael Owen, Rivaldo, Diego Forlan, Alessandro Del Piero and Rivaldo.

Four South Korean greats Ahn Jung-hwan, who famously scored a winner against Italy at the 2002 World Cup, Lee Chun-soo, Kim Byung-ji and Kim Yong-dae complete the line-up that is managed by Arsenal icon Thierry Henry, whose assistant is former Man United man Park Ji-sung.

As for Shield UTD, Rio Ferdinand captains the side as his former Man United colleague Nemanja Vidic joins him in the squad.

Ex-Barcelona duo Javier Mascherano and Yaya Toure also feature not to mention Andrea Pirlo, Clarence Seedorf, Carles Puyol, Leonardo Bonucci, John Arne Riise, Ricardo Carvalho, and Adilson, with Edwin van der Sar set to feature between the sticks.

Three ex-South Korean internationals in Kim Nam-il, Park Joo-ho and Lim Min-hyeok are in the squad, too, that is led by World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro and Lee Young-pyo.

The legends will not only play the showdown on Sunday but also participate in preliminary events on Saturday that pit players to see who is better at shooting and one-on-one situations.

Fans' excitement for the match is clear as 48,000 tickets have been sold for the star-studded event.
